Child radios pilot at JFK

3/4/10
The other day at JFK airport in New York City there was an incident with the air traffic control where one of the controllers had his son with him that day and let his son do some transmitting to Jet Blue airlines. Nobody was hurt and no accidents took place but according to the FAA it was completely unprofessional and could have ended up to be a disaster. The pilots that the child communicated with the child found joy in the day and wished that there kids could go to work with them. But never the less the FAA is very much up set about this and is making very clear statements about why this is a problem and should never happen with such inexperience. Personally I say big deal if the father was right there telling his son exactly what to do. You can find this article in the Ithaca Journal 3/4/10 or on there website.
